Saturday, August 17, 2019 was a great day to enjoy all that Port Carling has to offer during the second village-wide Port Carling Midday Madness sales event.

People listening to Emma Clendenan play across from the Port Carling Visitor Information Centre on Lock Street

The streets of Port Carling were bustling with visitors enjoying live music and sales at the event organized by the Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce. Although the day started out with a bit of rain, the sun came out just in time for an afternoon spent strolling through Port Carling. There was plenty of fun for the whole family, with face painting, balloons, a special flyboard show, and more!

Jessica Sevier entertaining at That Blue Tub

The Chamber asked businesses in and around Port Carling to contribute to a day promoting the community. Our event partners helped us place some of the best up-and-coming Muskoka artists around town. Visitors were serenaded by musicians on violins, keyboards, guitars, and a mandolin.

Jessica Sevier was sharing her music at That Blue Tub while Mike Lewis and Briar Summers were performing in front of Chestnut Park Realty Ltd.

Jamie Sherman was in Tommy Bahama while Ian Thurston and the Chamber’s own Elisabeth Boyle were playing guitar down by Algonquin Outfitters.

Emma Clendenan was set up outside of our Port Carling Visitor Information Centre providing background music to visitors enjoying a scoop of ice cream at Mooskoka’s.

Neil Hutchinson and Gary Sharma played music outside of Barnboarded Antiques at the top of the hill. The seven-piece Tom’s Café welcomed boaters to Port Carling down at the docks.

Mike Lewis teaching a little girl how to play “Happy Birthday”. A fun day for all ages at Port Carling Midday Madness

Clare Tapley shared his lively fiddle music by the locks and up and down Maple Street, Christina Hutt rocked out in front of Jayne’s Cottages, and Shannon Durnan serenaded shoppers at Auntie Doodie’s Antiques.

Geoff from Summer Water Sports put on a fantastic flyboard show that was a crowd favourite!

We want to give special thanks to our main event sponsors: Chestnut Park Realty Ltd., and the Township of Muskoka Lakes. Thank you for helping us make this such a successful event!
