PROST! HERE’S TO GOOD TIMES AT OKTOBERFEST MUSKOKA 2024

The most uber way you can support our local community this fall is to join the super fun at Oktoberfest Muskoka the weekend of October 25th.

“It’s a party not to miss but it’s so much more than that,” says Norah Fountain, Executive Director of the Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce. “It extends Muskoka’s high season to the end of October, keeping businesses hopping and staff fully employed at venues that take part also gives our local Legions and other community centres the chance to make some needed funds. Oktoberfest is good for all Muskoka, and we’re so thankful for our many partners who help make it happen year after year.”

The Happy Wanderers Band at Oktoberfest 2023: They’re back for Signature Big Bash Events at the Bala Bay Inn ($5 tickets here) on October 25 and at Christie’s Mill Inn and Spa in Port Severn on October 26.

Monday, October 21st is the official Tapping of the Keg Ceremony, this year at Christie’s Mill Inn and Spa. Organized by Chambers of Commerce across Muskoka, one of the group’s Oktoberfest goals is to shine a spotlight on every Town and Township in Muskoka. This year it’s Port Severn’s turn! “The Happy Wanderers will have you singing Zigge Zagge HOI HOI HOI at our afternoon kick off bash starting 1:30pm, and it’s free at Christie’s Mill Inn and Spa,” says Lisa Buck of the Segbay Chamber.

Cross Muskoka events start Friday, October 25th with Signature Events in both Bracebridge, Bala, Gravenhurst and Port Carling. See the full schedule here to pick your place to party! Some events are Free, others are Ticketed.

SIGNATURE EVENTS in BRACEBRIDGE: Lake of Bays Brewing has Weiss Blau on stage at the Foundry Friday night. The Weiss Blau band has played K-W Oktoberfest for 30 years straight and are eight time winners of the ‘Ein Prosit’ award for best large band at Oktoberfest. Weiss Blau translated is White Blue, the colours of the Bavarian flag that you’ll see many places during Oktoberfest Muskoka. See Weiss Blau at the Foundry: Get tickets here >

Tall Pines Festival producer Kevin Goodman has Boston Levi and friends at Bracebridge Hall. He jokes that the Oktoberfest version of the summer Tall Pines should be called “Fall Pines”. And everyone that buys a ticket and is there in person will get a code for a FREE all weekend General Admission pass to Tall Pines Music and Arts Festival 2025 in Gravenhurst.

“We’re thrilled to be back at Bracebridge Hall for another Tall Pines Music event,” says Goodman. “Now we’re celebrating Octoberfest in Muskoka and we’re featuring 745 Music’s and 2024 Tall Pines festival artist, Boston Levi – a unique band mixing arena-ready rock with alt-country flourishes. Opening for Boston Levi will be Tall Pines x 89.1 The Max Battle of the Bands finalist, Alex Kaye Black.”

DID YOU KNOW….you could win a Stay and Play Muskoka Getaway. Enter on the Oktoberfest website now or during Oktoberfest. Contest closes October 27.

Santa loves Oktoberfest, too, and you can dine and dance the night away at the Yule Lodge. The Featured Performer is Dylan Lock and they have an Oktoberfest Buffet featuring Schnitzel, cabbage rolls, sausages, roast chicken, strudel and many more German delights

SIGNATURE EVENTS IN MUSKOKA LAKES: The Signature Event in Bala brings back another K-W Oktoberfest favourite: The Happy Wanderers band at the historic Bala Bay Inn. Buy your $5 ticket here.  Fuel up with Bavarian dining specialties like Schweinshaxe at Lakeside Bala Restaurant or veal and pork schnitzel at The Hook and Ladder before the show (and Emme Clendenan performs until 8pm there). Eat up then polka over to the Bala Bay Inn. Christina Hutt is at Lakeside Bala on Saturday night. Local Oktoberfest bands The HopHeads are at Bracebridge Hall Saturday afternoon and Muskoka Polka plays the Port Carling Legion Saturday night: you’re going to want to polka to work off the great food the Legion has in store for you. All proceeds to the Legion – just $5 admission at the door.

HOP ON A BREW BAUS OKTOBERFEST TOUR: Oktoberfest Muskoka wouldn’t be the same without our local craft breweries and the Gravenhurst Chamber’s Meghan Pratt says you just have to hop on the unique BREW BAUS to be chauffeured, Oktoberfest-style, to Muskoka Brewery, Sawdust Brewery, Clear Lake Brewing and Bracebridge Barrel house for Lake of Bays Brewing. Canvas has a special Oktoberfest night on Friday night, too.
