Hello 2018!
On behalf of the Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors and Staff, I want to thank you for your continued support of the Chamber. 2017 was another successful year and there’s much to look forward to in 2018.
Our signature event, Spotlight on Muskoka Lakes, is a fun way to kick off summer, and we plan to do it again this year on Friday, June 15 at The Kee to Bala. Save the date for this great evening – and be sure to ask us how you can highlight your business before and during Spotlight. We have a number of other networking events planned throughout 2018 already – call our General Manager Norah if you want to book your own Business After Hours evening. There are still spots open in February, March and late fall.
This year also marks new key initiatives for our Chamber. One major project is planning for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Convention, which we have the honour of hosting in Minett in collaboration with the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce.

Part one of our hosting duties takes us to the 2018 Convention in Hamilton this April to invite everyone to Muskoka Lakes in May 2019. We plan to put on one terrific show for the hundreds of delegates, many who run tourist information offices across Ontario. As many of you are doing, we are actively trying to find more ways to attract good workers to Muskoka Lakes. We have applied for a grant to build a Muskoka Lakes central job portal on our new website. Are you hiring? Send us your info.
We are committed to helping you make 2018 your best year ever.
On a personal note, I want to thank our members and the Board of Directors for letting me serve as Board President. It’s a privilege for me to be associated with the Chamber, the members, volunteers, and the great work the Chamber does for our businesses and community.
We’re always looking for new people to get involved, and I encourage anyone who is interested to join us in this worthwhile cause to step forward and offer their time and experience. Feel free to call me or any member of the Board of Directors to know more.
