Did you know that a Sugar Glider is a cheeky, cheerful and fuzzy marsupial which lives in Australia and can fly between trees in the forest? Did you know that the Rose Hair Tarantula is incredibly friendly and surprisingly harmless?
Muskoka Discovery Centre is changing its colours to khaki and camouflage as it welcomes the animal antics of Zoo To You on Saturday January 5th and Sunday January 6th. The hands-on, “ed-zoo-cation” weekend will welcome over 20 marvelous mammals and rambling reptiles to the Centre.

“The Zoo To You experience really stands out because it is so hands-on and families can learn about these amazing creatures who share our planet as they interact with them”, noted Ann Curley, Operations Manager for Muskoka Discovery Centre. “We want to provide a new and unique experience for children and one which will help them appreciate the wonderful world which we live in.”, explained Curley.
Families can explore the Centre, learn fascinating facts from the zoo handlers and meet animals including a chubby chinchilla, native to the Andes Mountains of South America; the Australian bearded dragon; an adorable African pygmy hedgehog and even a slippery Burmese python, one of the largest snakes in the world.

The event runs from 10am to 3pm both days and promises to be a highlight of the Centre’s winter programming for families. For more information, please contact Muskoka Discovery Centre at (705) 687-2115 or visit www.realmuskoka.com.
