Born in the Little Burgundy area of Montreal, Allan Royal has been an actor, writer and director in Canada for over 53 years. He has been an avid writer over the past 25 years, publishing poetry, experimenting in various types of prose from short stories to playwriting. In 2010, this love of writing resulted in his own one-man shows, which led to the creation of his literary muse, Benjamin Flicker and his trilogy of tales. This collection of short stories; 736 Dominion Isn’t There Anymore, about Ben’s early years, is the first of the trilogy and has been published by Inglewood Press just this spring.
Join us in Trillium Court Lounge and lose yourself in an evening with Allan (and Ben) as they give you a glimpse into Old Montreal, young Ben’s discovery of his world and the steadfastness of family, delivered with a lot of humour and tender compassion. Allan will read from his newly published book followed by a reception, book signing and chocolate cake!
