ABOUT TERRY REES, our Guest Speaker, exploring the important relationship between a healthy economy and a healthy cottage country environment.

Terry Rees has been a leader and innovator within the private and not-for-profit sectors for over 30 years. His. most recent role as CEO of one of the largest membership associations in the Province of Ontario  – the Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association (FOCA) involved communicating the complex challenges facing our economy, our environment and our society – and motivating public involvement for positive results. Terry’s specific areas of influence? Water and environmental management, rural / sustainable community development, public finance / property taxation, and many related public policy issues.

And we are thrilled to introduce you to Terry’s successor: Lesley Lavender, the new CEO of FOCA. Lesley is a dynamic leader with a proven track record in communications, marketing, organizational leadership and forging strategic partnerships to advance organizational goals. She was most recently the CEO of the Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce and has shared many conversations about cottage country challenges with our own Muskoka Lakes Chamber.
