Jim Kerley

Jim is a Master Electrician with over 30 years experience. Over his wide-ranging career Jim has been exposed to a variety of electrical contracting work including all aspects of residential, commercial, agricultural, industrial, and institutional construction and maintenance. During his many years of experience in the electrical industry Jim has held various positions, gaining vast knowledge and experience in all aspects of electrical construction and maintenance, some of these positions include; Electrical Apprentice, Electrician, Electrical Foreman, Electrical Supervisor, Master Electrician, Project Manager, Electrical & Mechanical Inspector, and Owner/Operator of Electrical Business.

Long before moving to the Muskoka – Parry Sound area, Jim started his electrical career in the London-Kitchener-GTA area working for an Electrical contractor where he worked on a variety of new construction projects starting with residential townhomes, high-rise residential, single family and luxury high-end custom homes and condominiums. Jim then moved on to commercial and institutional electrical projects located throughout Southern and Northern Ontario where he worked on projects such as; Police and Fire Stations, Retail Stores, Restaurants, Grocery Stores, Shopping Malls, Schools, Hospitals and Correctional Institutions, where he gained experience in the installation and maintenance of medium to large sized electrical services, lighting control, heating control, extensive fire alarm and security systems, and emergency backup generator systems, to name a few. After spending a few years traveling throughout Ontario working on these construction projects, Jim returned to the London area where he started a successful Electrical business (Kerley Electric) primarily working on residential and small commercial projects as well as providing 24 hour electrical service calls. Jim reluctantly chose to close his business and move to another province for a year and a half in order to support family members during a crisis. While living in rural Manitoba Jim gained electrical experience in agricultural and farm automation systems. Upon return to Ontario, Jim moved towards the industrial construction and maintenance portion of the trade. Starting in the food processing and packaging industry, he then moved on to the automotive industry, gaining extensive experience in large scale motors, drives, pumps, heating and cooling systems, as well as various automated controls, PLCs, and robotics.

Relying on the skills, knowledge, and experience that he has accumulated, Jim now operates ECCM Electrical Contracting throughout Muskoka & Parry Sound.
