Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary has been a non-profit, registered charity since 1987. It is located in Rosseau, Ontario on 460 acres of natural habitat in beautiful Muskoka.
They are dedicated to the rescue of injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife and once rehabilitated, returning the animals to their natural environments, thereby giving them a second chance.
For animals requiring permanent care Aspen Valley provides a Sanctuary in a natural outdoor setting with all that the Muskoka landscape offers. There are ~30 animals who have come to the Sanctuary from various situations such as zoo closures, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry seizures, or cases where animals have been kept in captivity and became too habituated to release.
Come for a guided tour of the Sanctuary and hear about their stories. The educational guided tours seek to increase awareness and an appreciation of wildlife by explaining the benefits different species provide to the environment. It is our desire to foster a greater understanding of wildlife and how humans can coexist with them.
Photography Tours are also available.
School groups are welcome.
Tours are by Appointment Only as we are not open to the public.
