Minett

The community of Minett was named after one of its first settlers, Charles James Minett. The Minett family, using the Free Land Grant in 1869, built their home and named it Clevelands House. The area post office had to change its name from Clevelands to Minett because of the postal mix ups that would occur with the city of Cleveland in the United States. Now home to the famous Clevelands House and the beautiful JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort and Spa, Minett is a must see for Muskoka first-timers and returning visitors. Spend an afternoon playing a round of golf, play in the SWS waterpark at Clevelands House, drop in for lunch or dinner at Dining Room in the Main Lodge or PIE, or just enjoy the scenic views of Lake Rosseau. Minett is also home to Chamber member SWS Muskoka, famous for the ski shows they produce for visitors across Muskoka. They also offer pop up sales shops in Minett Village.
